Tameside

Tameside is named after the River Tame, which flows through the borough, and includes the towns of Ashton-under-Lyne, Audenshaw, Denton, Droylsden, Dukinfield, Hyde, Mossley and Stalybridge, plus parts of Longdendale. Tameside is one of the ten Local Authorities that make up Greater Manchester, with its 2,752 employees (excluding schools) delivering vital services to it’s 231,071 residents.

The area boasts fantastic schools and affordable housing set in stunning countryside - and it is just a 10-minute train journey from Manchester city centre!

Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter

In December 2020, Tameside Council became the first Local Authority to become a Member of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter. In addition, all employees receive an Annual Development Review in order to identify any development needs, including access to professional qualifications.
